65"  SRSG would help.

*should* be about 67nF.  That's way too much for a static gap.  That's the LTR
value for a 12/120, which assumes SRSG.  Try only 4 or 5 of the strings instead
of all 6.

Still doesn't make sense to me, but I recall that happening, too.  VERY high
surge currents with so many turns (== high gap losses == smaller sparks)
