back in 92 I had the chance to go to an all day seminar about lighting
protection, grounding, ect
and if I recall right you are correct w/ the shape - The pointed lighting
rods are there to more
or less attract/control a strike if it occurs and the round/porkypine
balls? serve to
disburse/prevent the build up of electrons that attract the strike. "It has
been a long time"
