Hi Bill! 

Yes, it will give you a greatly added measure of insulation ( = security  = 
safety). There are probably as many opinions as to whether it is absolutely 
necessary or not as there are "Chevys"  ;-))  If you use this method and 
never have internal arcing, carbonizing, smoke, etc. who's to say if it was 
too much caution. Sounds like a good plan to me.
