It sounds like I need a better source of components - I'll do more
searching. I does appear that you Americans get a far better deal on just
about everything.

I am not sure about the exchange rates or anything but these are the
approximate US prices:

1K 100 watt	$8 each (need 2)
10M 1/2 watt	$1/15
0.0033uF 1600V	$12/12
1800v MOV	$12/12
Total		$41 US

You may compare these prices to be sure the prices you found are not out of
line.  Not cheap, but perhaps better than a blown NST.
