RE: Neon Tube Sourcings?
The Geek Group has used these auto-neons extensively on the Geekmobile
Projects, especially Geek-0 and Geek-3. The best ones come from California
Neon. They are availible in 10" 15" 18" and 32 or 36" (I can't remember
offhand, but it's big). They are also horribly overpriced, if we couldn't
get them donated we wouldn't buy them.
Contact a local neon shop, we've never had a problem getting tubes blown. If
you're looking for small tubes ask for the "Pinch Offs" or whatever they
call them in your area. When a tube is filled and sealed they have a small
piece (usually from 4 to 10" of 1/8th" filled and sealed glass, with ARgon,
Neon, or the flavour of the day inside) These are Great fun to play with.

Have you considered the short neon tube lights that the kids are putting
under their cars these days. It seems they are (I'm guessing here)
about 18" long (In my day we spent our money on headers and cams) and I
think they can be ordered from the auto parts houses.
