Selenoid?

    I am starting to think about a small DCTC, and cap-discharge
experiments.  What I'm looking for is a mechanical method to bring 2
electrodes close to let it arc.  Maybe a brass knob on a pneumatic selenoid?
I don't want to be holding *anything* with wires while doing this.  I could
just set the 2 knobs the proper distance for the voltage, but I would like a
bit more control.  Any help is appreciated.
