Re: Building a Primary

Hi Dave,
I had to do this with my primary. First I filed each end so that the two
pieces will fit nice and flush against each other once they are joined. I
cleaned the inside and outside of the ends as best as I could with
sandpaper. Then I found some cable that fit snugly inside the tube and cut a
piece an inch long. I fed a half inch into one end of the tube, and then
slid the other piece of tubing over the remaining half inch of wire, making
sure that the two pieces were as tight against each other as I could get
them. Then I soldered this whole mess with a 100 watt iron. After I got done
filing and sanding off the excess solder, the joint is barely noticeable.
Even the electrons don't notice the difference :-)
Good luck,
S.G.
