capacitor equations/formulas please?

Can anyone tell me some formulas/equations on how to figure charge rate, 
discharge rate/power, and some other things of that nature? or at least link 
me to where i could find them? .... im interested in performing some 
experiments with them and want to do it safely/efficiently.
