hi all,
i just thought i would post that my party cup cap has been a great
success.
it has to be the cheapest, easiest home built capacitor of all. the test
cap of twenty cups, doubled up for a dielectric thickness of .038" gave
5nf and withstood a 15 minute run at 33kv-ac and took about 1.5 hours to
build.
with a 40 cup unit, a 10nf capacitor with a total cost of under $10.00
that withstands 30kv at least can be made.
anyone on a low budget, or a do it yourselfer that may be interested
contact me off list and i will send some pix with a little breakdown of
my construction details.
