Hello everyone,
 
Has anybody tried using a water softener resin tank as a form for a secondary
coil?  The construction is very strong, with wound fiberglass cloth in a resin
matrix.  They are available used, for free from any water softener
retailer---just unscrew the valve end and tap the plastic resin beads out! 
Several sizes are available with the most common being 10.25" diameter with 28"
to 41" windable length.  Would they be any good from the rf standpoint?
