Static spark gap length question
Hi all,
I was wondering what the advantage of having a spark gap set to a small
length is. With a 15kv NST, you should be able to set the gap at about
3/4 of an inch, yet many people set them at around .2 or .3 inches.
couldn't you get much greater voltage across the capacitor by widening
this, or does too long a charge time (most of the cycle) do something
bad? So far, I have set my gap at about 3/4" and get good results.
Could my output be improved with a smaller gap?
