You are running 10kVA through a SINGLE set of 1/8" rods??
IŽd suggest you switch over to at least a multiple gap or
even better a RG. YouŽll love your increase in spark length
just from switching over from that single gap.

IŽll bet on that!! Your gap type will never quench correctly
at this power level.

Easy to explain this one. "Blowing" increases the air density,
while sucking "thins out" the air, resulting in even less
quenchability.
