HV rectifier tubes FS
These are probably historically intersting since they are more than 50 years
old now - make me an offer if you can use them
RCA (radiotron) 866 -- have two of these, they look older than
the taylor ones, in original box
Sylvania 866A (not in orignal box
on the inside of of one of the taylor boxes is the date:
6/17/41
I have a
radio amateur's handbook, 1953 ed that lists a KY866 as a
mercury vapor triode, 10KV peak anode voltage, 1000ma, that is
a "grid controlled rectifier" - I suppose thta must be the
vacume tube equivalent of an SCR? Is this the same tube (the
866s seem to be mercury tubes from their color). There is
also listed an 866A/866 as a 4 pin half wave rectifier,
3500VAC max per plate at 250 MA - I suppose the circular
"plate" around the filament could be for Xray containment,
since the plate cap is connected to what looks like a graphite
plate
