I checked out your excellent JavaTC program and compared it with my JHCTES
Ver 3.1 program. They agreed very well and should because they use mostly
the same equations. The main difference is with the primary circuit. With
the JavaTC the primary turns in the inputs are adjusted so the primary
frequency equals the secondary frequency. With the JHCTES the primary turns
are determined in the outputs to automatically  tune the primary frequency
to the secondary frequency. The AWG wire size is not used so will not
change. It was left in by mistake but will be used in the 4.0 version.

I was pleased to see that you have also included programs for the power
transformer and the rotary spark gaps. I have been working for some time on
a rotary spark gap program but cannot decide on how to handle some problems
such as primary capacitor charge times for break rates greater than half
cycle rates,etc.

I am happy that your program is similar to the JHCTES as it is now possible
to easily compare them for accuracy. This has not been possible with other
programs because of the completely different TC design approach. Keep up the
good work.

Yes, I checked it out. Nice to have an online version. Good job with it. I
checked it against my JavaTC values
at my site and for the most part, they agreed. There we're small
discrepancies, but nothing of major concern.
One thing I did want to point out is the return input box for AWG wire
size. I put in 18 and then after
calculation, it returned 0.0201 in the same cell. It calc'd everything ok
on the right hand side of the input
boxes, but I thought it odd it didn't return something around 0.0403 (or
near).

Also you metioned an auto-tuning feature to be added in an upcoming
version. You might want to check out
JavaTC.

The method I used was to check the frequency's and depending if they are
high or low, I change the tune point -
stepping through this loop until the frequency's match. This way, a rough
primary can be easily designed and
tuned. Very useful when coilers (like myself) like to try out different
tank cap sizes with the same primary.
Of course, even these auto-tuning features are rough with things like
topload discrepancies.
