A string of diodes in series to is required to get the voltage rating up.
(you're not going to find a 30kV diode...the highest I've seen in a single
package is 26kV)
ECG and/or NTE makes a 45kV diode. The average forward current rating is
only 5mA, and the peak repetitive forward current is 200mA. Its part number
513, I’m not sure on the price. You can check their web sight if your
interested.
