FOR SALE:

1. Pulse caps:
Four large, high speed, low-inductance capacitors. 50kVDC, 1uF each.
Approximately 24" x 18" x 6", approximately 70 pounds each before crating.

Unusual construction designed for insertion into low-inductance
pulse-forming transmission line. Castor oil dielectric. Two metal "cans"
on either side of a thick slab of insulating material. Cans are "hot".
Buss connections are about 10" wide. Mounting is via insulating slab. I
would recommend operation in non-conductive enclosure with much clearance,
or under oil or SF6.

These were built by GE in the early 1980's for a black project at Martin
Marietta, Waterton, Colorado. No further details available. Usage and
remaining shot life unknown. I have tested that they hold charge, have
almost no leakage, and that they discharge nicely into a 50 ohm test load
(home built, coaxial, low inductance) at about 1000A. That's it. I have not
fired them at the very high currents of which they are capable, nor fired
them into any significant inductance.

Email me for photographs or mechanical drawings. Make offer. Buyer pays
for motor freight. These caps store 5,000 joules of energy- they are
dangerous. Buyer _must_ sign damage waiver / release & hold harmless
agreement before I will ship.

2. huge ion pump:
Large ion (ultra-high vacuum) pump, with magnets, WITHOUT power supply.
Built by Perkin-Elmer, exact model unknown, comparable P-E designs are good
for 200 l/s or greater speed (original sticker obliterated from repeated
bake out operations). Throat about 5.5", outer flange rim (looks like
ConFlat type to me) about 8" across, has two lifting lugs on either side of
pump. Overall height about 14". Weight about 200 pounds before crating.
All stainless, except magnets and titanium elements, of course.

Condition unknown, but physically clean. May require new elements or a
rebuild. Used pumps like this, not yet rebuilt, are selling for $1k - $2k
on Lab-X and other places, without controllers.

Not under vacuum- will need to be roughed down and baked out before use.
Requires (typically) 3 - 5kvDC at 10mA or more at low pressures (less than 1
microtorr). Requires horrendous currents if you try to start it above about
1 millitorr.

Note, this is not a roughing pump or a general purpose vacuum pump for
beginners. If you don't know what it is, you don't need it. I will
consider any reasonable offers. Buyer to pay motor freight.
