Mike and David,

Ross Overstreet has been using a single 15/60 to make 5' arcs for a year without a problem (well it did spit out a small ball of flaming tar after a 5-min run one evening :-) )

You can see his work at http://users.better-dot-org/roverstreet/projects/ac_coil/psu.html <http://users.better-dot-org/roverstreet/projects/ac_coil/psu.html>

Regards,
Brian B.

		hehe
I took out all but 5 shunts on a 12/60...
2.5kW for a lifetime of approx 10 hours... Not bad I suppose. However, I do
have a pic to prove it did not turn (directly) into a ball of fire: check
		out http://members.xoom-dot-com/mpn111084/pigwannabe.jpg
She's really making a fuss in that pic. The magnetic field was so harsh it
shook the 1" bearings the arcs were eminating from.
		Enjoy...

Wow! Nice hot arc there! 2.5 kw with .72 standard for 12/60, hmm, thats 3
1/2 times more power than that tranny's speced for! I was thinking
modifying a 15/60 for 120ma operation, which would be only 2 times more
power. And, I was going to submerse the whole thing under oil. What do you
think the expected life for that setup would be like?

		Thanks,
		David
