Ryan, all,

Steve is exactly right! I don't think I could state it any better than
he did. I'm 38 and have been coiling for the better part of 15 years
now and I've got to be honest with you. If I would have started
out with a pole pig 15 years ago, I would more likely be 'pushing up
daisies' than talking with you guys on this list today. Steve is very
correct in that a beginner doesn't need to start out with a pig powered
coil. An NST or OBIT powered coil is power enough until one is abso-
lutely sure of what they are doing. If you are human, you will make
mistakes and if you make a mistake that results in a shock with an
NST or OBIT, you will get the snot shocked out of you, but it will be
a valuable learning experience that you most likely live thru & not
make that same mistake again. However, if you make this same
kind of mistake with a pole pig or even an MOT, you will most likely
get the life shocked out of you or at best lose a hand and/or a foot.

BTW, I got my 1st PTs (also deadly) just last year and my 1st pole
pig last March (2000)! I think you mentioned that you were 17. I don't
want to sound like your daddy or anything and I certainly can't stop
you from going on with your project if you want to, but please be
EXTREMELY CAREFUL with your newly aquired pig and I'm sorry
if I led you to think in any way that you could be casual in working
with a pole pig. These beasts take no prisoners, so again everyone,
PLEASE BE EXTREMELY with this stuff. It would be a terrible shame
to find out that one of our list members was electrocuted!

SAFE Coilin'
