Nope...it don't matter a bit. They're gonna get pounded from both
ends pretty well. If my memory serves me correctly caps in TC use
can see up to an 80%+ voltage reversal. Not to mention you're
running them in an AC system... I personally stack all my
capacitors with the writing facing all one way, just 'cause I'm a
bit picky, but it won't matter at all which way you solder 'em up.
Just make sure you're putting bleeder/stabilizer resistors on 'em.
If you don't got any, get them from Digikey, 1k of 'em (10meg ohm)
for ~$13. Well worth the money, and can save your butt too!
And nope, it ain't a stupid question :) No such thing as a
"stupid" question (except those not asked). Maybe a simple
question, or an ignorant (which isn't a bad thing), but never
stupid. Keep 'em comin!
