One leg of the MOT's is grounded to the case or chassis. I'll lift the
grounded wire and float the entire mess. I'll still ground the MOT cores for
safety.

Thank you very much for all the details. In this part of the world one
leg of the MOTs HV-winding is grounded. Using two MOTs and a
full wave rectifier certainly would provide a lot of power, but the
voltage wouldn't be referenced to GND. Or did I miss something?
