With pole xmfr run non-synchro at 1725 RPM, 3/4 HP, 8-10 electrodes, in air
(not under oil --- much higher windage losses thru fluid).

Or, run snychro at 1800 RPM with 4 electrodes.  This also works very good
and gives higher peak currents in the discharge.
