Re: Ionic propulsion/ pinwheel toroid
Hi Dr R.,
Believe it or not, it might actually be possible.

The diodes I'm speaking of are Philips EHT rectifiers designed for
use in monitors and TVs. I bought a bundle from them (stock they
wanted to get rid of) for about NZ50c a few years ago. They are
glass passivated but you can get around the lead-lead creepage
ratings by covering them in heatshrink. The sorts of rating we are
talking about are 20kVrr, recovery times in the sub uS range, Iav
around 3mA or so and Ipkr around 500mA !!! So far I've only used
them to rectify test eqpt. type flyback chargers but....
In the same breath, I'm sincerely sorry to say I have none for
resale. I have given a few away over the years but am hanging onto
the rest with a view to using them in various projects.
Regards,
malcolm
