There are some documents explaining the RQ gap on www.pupman-dot-com. Or just use the list archives. Basicly, it's a static series gap made from copper pipe sections bolted into a PVC pipe with a fan on one side cooling the gap sections. It's simple, easy to build, and works quite well.
