How about the ARRL Handbook? They have a ton of data on antenna matching
networks. The ARRL Antenna Book probably has a bunch too. 

IIRC, a roller inductor is a hellical coil made from stiff wire with
internal supports and a moving tap. Much like we build our primaries.
The inductor is turned and the tap moves along it's length changing the
inductance.
