Virtually every x-ray tube used in the U.S.A. has the equivalent of 1.5 mm of 
Al. to filter out the low energy x-rays that would be absorbed in the body . 
If you are worried about ionizing radation you can easily build a shield for 
it. you can use a couple of sheets of  Al. flashing.
