RE: Needed - Neon Transformer -Reply
I would just like to make a comment about my personal experiences with
transformers. I am a novice as well, and while still being careful I have
managed to kill 3 or 4 transformers in only a few weeks. I am very thankful
to a local neon shop for donating 10 used, but functional units to my cause.
I would suggest that if possible you try to find some free transformers of
some kind, because I know that I would be bummed if I killed a $55 - $100
transformer. Even if you do not have a neon shop locally, I found that in
larger cities nearby there have been about 20 sign shops in all, and they
are usually willing to give you the old ones to try to fix, and, as in my
case I got 10 working ones. Although you might not experience as many
problems as I have, I figured that I might give you a personal experience to
consider.
