Robert,

As long as the outer strands STAY on the outside, and all you're seeing
is twisting of all the outer strands around the center strands, then you
should be OK. Braid has the individual conductors diving through the
center and re-emerging on the other side repeatedly, which is what
causes the problem at RF frequencies...
