I can give you half of what you seek, the SCR is an International Rectifier
ST180S20P0  9715. manufactured in Italy. Can't give you the control circuit
diagram, that kind of thing is considered company private, but it's not
anything special or complicated from what I can see. You can find SCRs of
this type in the Newark catalog that will switch up to 1300 volts. 3 years
ago I was told they paid $400 or $800 each for the things can't remember
exactly,  they still keep the replacements under lock and key so I bet they
are still expensive.
