electronic neon transformers

Hi,

So far I haven't been able to obtain a decent transformer in the UK.

I've now come across some electronic neon devices but not sure if they'll be
any good.
They range from 3kV-at-50mA tto about 9kV-at-25mA all output is at 32kHz.

Anyone have experience of these devices?
Does the high (relatively) output frequency have any affect on the tesla
coil design/circuits.

Any help would be welcome.

Also if anyone can offer wire-wound transformers at a reasonable price (I
don't want to have to pay heaps in shipping charges) I maybe interested.
