Hi Ken,
OBIT = Oil Burner Ignition Transformer
They are high voltage current limited transformers that are used to start
the flame in oil burning furnaces. I think 10kV at 28mA is common but you
have to live in an area where oil heating is common. Here in Colorado,
everything is natural gas and I have never seen one...
