Hi.
IGBTs are an hybrid between BJT (Bipolar Junction Transistor, usually named
just
as "transistor") and FET (Field Effect Transistor). They have got collector and
emitter but no base: they have gate, instead.
You can find all the info you want on IGBTs visiting, for instance, Motorola's
web pages.

I've seen lots of people talk about IGBT's in this list, and I'm not
sure what they are. I assume they are some kind of semiconductor device,
I've probably already heard of them, I'm just not familiar with this
abbreviation. Maybe some nice person could enlighten me.
