I have had a few sheets of mylar soaking in trans oil for about 4 months
now  i checked on the sheets a few minutes ago   so far no visible signs
of damage or change  it is still firm ( not slippery or soft as some
plastics become in oils ) flexible ( some plastics become brittle ) and
clear
