I will just answer this now since I am right here...

I wanted to be sure to swamp out all the high voltage spikes and any other
RF noise to the meter.  The filter has a cutoff of 1.6kHz so it will remove
the RF spikes and such that may damage the meter or mess up it's readings.
I suppose one could argue that the noise is a valid thing to be measured.
However, the filter will average out that signal and add it too. - Terry >>>
