Hi All,
         an engineer friend of mine and i were discussing tesla coils 
yesterday when he mentioned that the induction hardenning machine he had 
scrapped a couple of years ago had a 0.25 Farad 2000V capacitor bank in it.  
It does get better.  These machines deliver a 1MW pulse of very short 
duration using a CW valve osscillator (the valves need a water cooling plant 
the size of a freight container and cost $10000)
to produce huge surface conducted eddy currents to a small piece of metal to 
harden it's surface.  These machines are clearly perfect for tesla coil psu's 
so if any of you stumble upon one (this one was 7' high 11' wide and 17' 
long) then treasure it.  Or if any of you engineer types out there have 
access to one and a sympathetic boss.....
