  I was wondering while thinking about the way diodes work.  Is there any way 
to make a rectifying component using magnatism.  Maybe a coil of wire between 
two magnets.  I really don't know if this would work, but I thought that it 
might be applicable to those who are interested in high voltage "diodes".  
Also, I haven't been able to find anyone anywhere else who can answer me.
  If this is the case, then a person could make a switching effect without 
the lossy spark gaps.
  Just didn't really know.
