general, doesn't really address wire diameter with respect to the
inductance of a single layer solenoid. However, there is a discussion of
various wire shapes, etc. in the section on toroids. I haven't gone
through it in detail, but that might be a place to look. Also, if you
have a copy of Terman around, he probably addresses it."
Almost any edition of "The Radiotron Designers' Handbook" has plenty of
equations which are entirely adequate for any possible TC design. The
corrections to "current sheet inductance" to "low frequency inductance"
fo as a function of wire size and winding pitch are also given. Really
on only important for coils such as TC primaries, and even there the
correction is seldom more than 20%, which is almost negligible if
you're going to adjust the primary turns for "maximum good".
