Jeremy,
A TC does not HAVE to be big... and you don't need a TC to demonstrate the skin
effect. You can use a fly back driven with a pair of transistors for that...

scientific sells a TC that is about 5 inches square at the base, and maybe 10
inches tall.. I think more appropriatly it should be called an oudin coil, as
it
uses a virbating circuit to inturrupt a voltage, as oposed to an arc gap...
(i'm
not all that certain of the semantics regarding the difrences) by the way 1.8
meggavolts, at .14 amps, what is your project about?
