Subject: Thyratron(?) whatsit question

To All,

While rummaging through my ample junk supplies, I came across what
appears to be a thyratron.  It has a 4 pin base and a plate cap.
Structurally,
it looks much like a power tube, with large cylindrical elements, except
the
plate element is a simple disk suspended above the cylinder. 
The number stamped on the glass is ELC3J.  Does anyone out there happen to
have
the spec's for this?  

Since I am a thyratron illiterate,  any and ALL details would be
appreciated
including the filliment voltage and ionization/ deionization times etc.....
