I'm not certain about the age correlation. I've measured the line voltage 
over the past three or four decades and it's varied over a range of 105 to 
127 volts A.C. during that time period, and in a random fashon. Also during 
that same time period I have seen label plates saying anything from 110 
volts to 125 volts with most being 117 volts!
