RSG's different shape electrodes

Hi,
Has anyone done research on which type of electrode
shapes work best in rotary spark gaps? Has anybody
tried the following shapes?

Round to Round.
Round to Flat.
Round to Cylinder
Round to Point
Flat to Flat.
Flat to Cylinder
Flat to Point
Cylinder to Cylinder <- example; two copper pipes parallel
Cylinder to Point
Point to Point

My guess is that cylinder to cylinder would work best,
since it would still have some surface area but since it is
round as the electrode moves they become farther apart.
Although the round to round would probably work just as
well.

Comments?
Ideas?
Knowledge you wish to share? :)
