 I have a 15 Kv  neon sign transformer.  I have been using the heavy duty neon
 sign cable. I have heard spark plug wires work just as well. Which is best?
It
 is much easier for me to drive to the auto parts store than the neon sign
 shop.

You can use spark plug wire, BUT (there is always a but) you have to use
straight wire, not the resistive (supressor wire) type. They are usually
manufactured by non OEM companies like ACCEL or TAYLOR, etc.
