OK. I am starting to build a picture in mind.

Already have a 30A x 3-phase line filter (Fuji) which I found at the "junk"
store for $20.

The "other shop" has a straight/parallel 3-phase variac at 15A per winding.

NSTs are readily available. Not cheap, but are good quality units. The
15kV/60mA ones I have are *very* robust, so I imagine the 120mA variety
will only be stronger.

NOW ...... further to the inspiration above from Greg, I need some input
from the local Aust./NZ contributors. What is going to be a good choice
for rectification. I am assuming Greg was not "tongue-in-cheek" in the
above, so we are talking about full-wave rectification times 3-phase ........

Anyone got a round dozen HT rectifiers lying around ??
(I am assuming I will need one bridge per phase)

The other question not answered thus far was would the rectifiers help
protect NSTs from return spikes ?

If I do build a DC supply what type of protection circuit would then be
optimal ?

All ideas/comments welcomed.
