Now that I'm a subscriber of the 'big toroid' approach, I must say
that 25-30kVA is rather extreme for a 48 x 12 toroid! My old coil
now runs at 26kVA, and even its old 65" x 13" toroid was too small.
The new 108" x 28" space-frame toroid is a far better fit, and the
coil will now continuously generate 25ft ground strikes at 26kVA.
BTW, I'll be running it in a week or so at the shipyard for any of
the few Bay Area local coilers that want to stop by.
