It is my understanding that lightning rods, and strike rails, protect in two
ways. They provide a low impedance connection to ground. For a given
current, dissipated power is low when the impedance is low. The second
method of protection is charge bleedoff to dissipating local charge buildup.
Am I right or am I wrong?
