Richard,

These are serious FET's! Probably going to have
a very high gate capacitance and take a lot of driving.

Id of 500A pulsed so if they blow it will be overvoltage
that kills them.

I've been experimenting with a half bridge and I'm
scoping a ringing on the FET's - I would be very
cautious about running FET's too near Vds. You'll
need snubbers accross the FET's very close to the
FET's.

BTW
I've also picked up the odd mystery cap, in the end
it comes down to trying them out - but if there is any
possibility of them using oil put them in a sturdy box.

One of my viscinol caps was dead on arrival so I
scientificaly disected it. (Hit it with a hammer till
the case broke) the inards were coated with grease
and the plate connections were on the light and flimsy
side. I had been assured that it contained no PCB's
but even so I was careful above handling it. The cap
has no vent holes.

Have fun,

Alan Sharp UK
