Yes. It is essentially a free radical and is extremely corrosive and 
damaging to living tissue. It also rusts tools.

Nitrogen oxides which are also corrosive and like to mix with 
moisture in the air to form liquid acids.

Yes.  Watch out particularly for heavy metals. These can be ionized 
several orbitals in whereupon the electron binding energies are 
sufficient to generate X-rays when the atoms return to their ground 
states.
