John,

I am used to and comfortable with the shortened term 'xfmer'.  I 
don't think it is cold, dismal or anything else except *shorter*.  It 
is just as effective IMO.  

Did you know?:
Vic Tanny gave a tranny to his nanny who knew Anny with a big fanny, 
but it shorted out as soon as it was connected to an xfmer!
