 Sounds like a wimpy teacher, no wonder the quality of education
 is going downhill these days.   I guess today's litigious society
 doesn't help either, but I've never heard of a Tesla coil being banned
 from a science fair!

Many years ago, in high school, I entered my Tesla col in the science fair -
but they would not let me run it.  Bummer.  It only produced about 12" sparks
but it looked good.
