A sonotube is a cylinder shaped concrete form consisting of cardboard and a
special release agent chemical. The water in the wet concrete will cause
the cardboard to release or expand in a few days so it can be easily
removed from the poured cylinder shaped concrete that remains (bridges
support structures are classic examples for their use). You can get one
from any large concrete equipment supplier, ie, company that supplies
trowels and other finishing tools for concrete.
Be sure to apply 2-3 layers of polyurethane or other insulating material
both inside and outside or else water vapor in the air might cause the
cardboard to swell and "release" from your coil.
