	There is a fundamental problem no one has mentioned yet,
as far as I can see.  You won't get a breakdown at all in a vacuum,
if I understand what you're asking.  Any sparking would be between
the tube pins.  Of course, you could "let the vacuum out" by 
breaking the seal on the tube.
